Washington, Feb 8 : Singer songwriter John Mayer has insisted that his reputation as a bad boy and cad is unwarranted, as he has never ill-treated any of his girlfriends.

Mayer, 32, who has dated stars like Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt, revealed in an interview with Playboy magazine that many people think he's terrible boyfriend material.

"I consider myself a good guy, with the best of intentions. Anyone who has been in a relationship with me would stand by the fact that I've never been callous. I've never been a bad boy," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"I may have taken someone through the wringer psychologically, but I've never been sinister," he added.
