Washington, Feb 8 : Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly the favourites to portray the role of Marshall Matt Dillon in a movie remake of hugely popular TV western Gunsmoke.

According to Los Angeles Time, producers want one of the two stars to play the role made famous by James Arness on the small screen, reports Contactmusic.

The show ran on radio from 1952 to 1961 before Arness gave Dillon a face on TV in the 1960s.
